Multimedia Storytelling An online multimedia storytelling ecosystem—comprised of user applications, a collaborative story-authoring engine, social context integration, and socially aware media services—offers a medium for information sharing and social storytelling about live events. Use Case and Requirement Analysis To better understand the user requirements in storytelling and how an ecosystem can meet them, we can developed a use case based around a real-world event. Online Multimedia Storytelling System As a research platform, the storytelling system is also equipped with a purpose-built statistics service, which captures time-coded user activities as well as service status. Multimedia Content Processing Compared with conventional social sharing services, multimedia storytelling requires a fast and resilient audio-visual processing back end to facilitate sharing and delivery of user-generated content. Story-Authoring Engine The story-authoring engine enables collaborative online story editing, and socially aware media distribution improves the network efficiency and user experience of media distribution during story editing and sharing. It uses editdecision lists (EDLs) to define time -addressable references of usergenerated content. Social context integration the AEP (Adaotive Event Profiler) internally distinguishes three types of keywords include the main keywords: The main keywords, which are always followed; Related keywords, which have high relevancy to the main keywords; candidate keywords, which are potentially relevant but aren't shown to the users. User Applications Users interact with the storytelling system through two user applications: the storiboard Web application and the Vidacle i. OS application. Storiboard web application Users can easily start a new story and let other users edit it collaboratively. Once a user finalizes a story, sharing options are also available to encourage community forming and collaborative editing of shared experiences. Vidacle mobile application The Vidacle mobile application is designed with an intuitive user interfce and content-management system to streamline a user's ability to capture, tag, share, and explore community stories on a mobile device during a live event. Socially aware media distribution Media content distribution is key to the overall user experience in the wild. The socially aware caching function is enhanced by integrating and crosss-referencing social and media distribution information We introduced an online multimedia storytelling system designed to facilitate creative story authoring and sharing user-generated audiovisual content in communities based on social events. storytelling experiments The user experiment highlights the contribution of social features in enhancing the user experience in content annotation, retrieval, and media distribution as part of a storytelling ecosystem. The duture work will address challenges, such as social inclusion and energy sustainability, and collective awareness using the creative storytelling platform. Want to learn more or get more details?
