MCS feedback in MBS • E-MBS service might use high-rate MCS to achieve higher throughput – MS sends adequate MCS to BS • Reporting in MBS – Orthogonal feedback channels SS 1 SS 2 • Waste radio resource – X orthogonal feedback cost if there are X MSs in a MBS group – Simultaneous feedback – X MSs sends simultaneous feedback message in 1 common channel MBS Group SS 3

Fundamental Idea • Only need to know the most robust MCS scheme – All MS could receive the MBS data block with acceptable error rate • Use simultaneous feedback to let BS know the most robust MCS scheme – MSs send feedback with the same time-frequency resource blocks

Multi-level Sequence for Modulation and Coding Scheme Adjustment • M level of MCS – Require (M-1) levels of sequence for feedback • Example – S 1: 0001 • MCS feedback of 64 -QAM – S 2: 0011 • MCS feedback of 16 -QAM – S 3: 0111 • MCS feedback of QPSK – S 4: 1111 • MCS feedback of BPSK

Feedback Estimation with Signal Strength • Get more information by signal strength estimation • Might be integrated with User Counting

Simultaneous Feedback with CDMA codes • M level of MCS – Use M CDMA codes • BS find the reported CDMA code that represents the most robust MCS scheme for MBS transmission

Proposed Text 11. 9. 1. 6 E-MBS feedback E-MBS supports adaptive MCS transmission to achieve higher data rate. Simultaneous feedback mechanism is used to collect MCS information from MS in the E-MBS group.
