NOURISHMENT IS THE BASIS OF HEALTH. - For a country, reaching desired level of civilization socioeconomically depends on the existence of the individuals who are physically and mentally strong, healthy and talented. This phenomenon is accepted as the main factor in technological and societal development. - Individuals are able to maintain a healthy life in adulthood if they develop a eating dietary habit in their childhood and youth.
HOW DO STUDENTS TAKE NOURISHMENT AT SCHOOL? The eating habits of children largely formed during school age and it is important that family and school to contribute positively to this. � To detect the daily eating habits of primary school students created a test that we distributed to all students. �
HOW DO STUDENTS TAKE NOURISHMENT AT SCHOOL? -A general survey about eating habits of children was conducted. - According to the results of the survey, several outcomes were obtained regarding eating habits of pre-school and primary school students.
HOW DO CHILDREN TAKE NOURISHMENT? � In this study, effectiveness of educating children about nutrition in primary school was analytically confirmed, and it was determined that this kind of education changes eating habits in a positive way. In this sense, the study prominently revealed that this education should be sustainable in order to be permanent, and spreading education programs about nutrition nationwide can have a great contribution to raising healthy generations
NUTRITIONAL BEHAVIORS OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN - - In this age group, children do not like consuming food intricately. Foods should be provided based their taste. They like foods which they can eat by using their hands more. Pre-school children are choosy in eating, and they do not eat ever food heartily.
HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE IN THE MORNING. Our school serves as bilateral teaching. � Secondary school students are educated in the morning, primary school students after school. � Students do not pay much attention to feeding because they arrive early. �
I DO NOT HAVE BREAKFAST. It continues to work even when our body is sleeping. It takes about 12 hours between dinner and breakfast. During this time, the body uses the whole of the food. Without breakfast, there is not enough energy in your brain. The difference between the pre-test and post-test groups was statistically significant. In a similar study, it was determined that the students in the 7 th grade of primary education were 40% in the preliminary test, that they had breakfast continuously, and 53. 3% of the 5 th grade students did not have breakfast; In the last test it was determined that no student indicated that he did not have breakfast

I BUY FROM CANTEEN Some of our children come to the services because the houses are far away from the school. � The morning group does not have breakfast because they arrive early. � Students are getting some food from the school canteen. �
MILK DRINKING SITUATIONS OF STUDENTS Milk is an important food that contains many nutrients necessary for the human organism. It is inevitable that the inadequate consumption of milk and dairy products, known as the most basic calcium source, will cause long-term, serious and harmful effects on future bone health in today's youth. Most of the calcium needed to feed school children during the growth and development period can be covered by milk and dairy products.
WHAT SHOULD I BUY ? v v When the students most preferred food from the school canteen is examined; Most bagels are chocolate, waffle and so on. (0. 65 ± 1. 14), toast (1. 54 ± 1. 35), bagels (1. 26 ± 1. 19), chocolate, wafers and biscuits (0. 73 ± 1. 91) in the test. . The most preferred drinks are; (1. 75 ± 1. 20), ayran (1. 45 ± 1. 17), ready-made fruit juice (0. 61 ± 0. 92), ayran (1. 63 ± 1. 18), cola (1. 30 ± 1. 11), milk 0. 98 ± 1. 25) and in the followup test, buttermilk (1. 70 ± 1. 11), milk (1. 47 ± 1. 35) and cola (1. 20 ± 1. 04).
I MUST EAT ALL � School canteens are supervised by a board. � It is not allowed to sell food that might be harmful to students on the side. � Students should be informed about the food and beverages that cause obesity through studies that school administrators will organize; Milk, ayran, yoghurt, fruit, natural fruit juice consumption should be encouraged.
NUTRITION HOUR v v v . Before school, nutritional time is applied in primary schools. The purpose of this practice is to eliminate the nutritional needs of children who spend long periods of time in school, and at the same time to give children proper nutrition habits. Pre-school education and elementary school classes (7 -11) have nutrition hours. Students eat at the food they bring home at the time of nutrition
NUTRITION IS BASED ON HEALTH. v. Studies have shown that inadequate and unbalanced students have shortened attention span, decreased perception, difficulty in learning and behavioral disorders, prolonged absenteeism, and low school achievement. v. Families should pay close attention not only to school achievement but also to monitor their growth and development and develop healthy eating behaviors, and they should be examples of their own eating habits. v. There are important responsibilities for teachers as well as for parents to provide basic nutrition information to students, to transform learned information into behavior, to timely intervene in wrong nutrition habits, and to be an example with nutritional behavior
