Issues with Multi-Channel Data Collection • Modal Bias - Question interpretation and response must be the same across modes – modal difference • Security - Internet – Hacking, Denial of Service, etc. - Paper – Anthrax, Risen, other NBC threats • Authentication - Does the respondent represent the household? • Duplicate Resolution - More channels, especially electronic, mean more duplicate responses • Receipt Control - Knowing the state of responses from creation to data delivery • Management Information - Having the information to manage the Census enterprise 11/1/2021 © 2008 Lockheed Martin Corporation.
