Ms. Ros Meet your Teacher My name is Veronica Ros and I am very excited to be your child’s 4 th Grade teacher! This year will be my 15 th year teaching. My degree is in Elementary Education from Barry University. I have a son and a daughter who are currently in high school. This year is going to be a great year.
My name is Carmen Perez and I am very excited to be your child’s 4 th Grade Math, Science and Social Studies teacher! This year will be my 14 th year teaching. My degree is in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University. I have a son a who is entering high school this year and is also a Dragon! This year I anticipate will be a great year.

PGA Attendance Policy Excessive Absences/Tardies/Early Dismissals Consequences: § A student who has five (5) or more cumulative absences, tardies and/or early dismissals will receive a call from the School Counselor as a Warning Notice of Excessive absences, tardies, and/or early dismissals. § A student who has ten (10) or more cumulative absences, tardies and/or early dismissals in an annual course or five (5) or more class absences in a designated semester course may have quarterly, semester and final grade(s) withheld. At this time, a Student Case Management Referral (SCM) indicating excessive absences, tardies and/or early dismissals will be issued. A meeting with the School’s Attendance Review Committee will be scheduled. § A student who has ten (10) or more cumulative absences, tardies and/or early dismissals will not be allowed to participate in activities, field trips, interscholastic competitions or performances for the remainder of the school year. § As a reminder, school attendance has a direct impact on academic achievement. In order to make the most of educational opportunities, students must have consistent, punctual daily attendance. We are asking for your cooperation in making sure your child attends school daily. Lunch Information • Students NEW to PGA pay full price until a lunch application for Free or Reduced is approved. • Free/Reduced Lunch eligibility continues for students who were at PGA last year for ONLY the 1 st 28 days of school. • Menus will be posted on our website in the Cafeteria area. • Link to electronically fill, sign and submit the lunch application is on our website in the Cafeteria area. • Meal prices: Full price – Breakfast ($2), Lunch ($3. 25) Reduced price – Breakfast ($0. 30) , Lunch ($0. 40)
Lunch Information • Meals will be curbside pick-up only with pre-order required. • When you pre-order meals, you will receive a car decal by email. Put the decal on your dashboard for each child whose meals you are picking up. • Meals picked up will include 1 breakfast and 1 lunch. • Walk-ups will not be permitted. • Link to pre-order meals for the week will is live on our website today. Deadline to submit is Sunday, 8/23 by 12 pm. • If your child is absent on the day you pick up meals, you will be charged full price for breakfast and lunch ($5. 25).
Parent Portal: New & Old Accounts • In order to volunteer or view your child’s grades you must create a Parent Portal Account on the M-DCPS website. • Parent Pin numbers will be issued by the Main Office. P. A. L. What is a PAL? Parents as Liaisons (PAL) • Pinecrest’s PAL Association supports the faculty and administration in their efforts to improve educational and extracurricular activities in the school. • Class PALs will apply and will be selected in conjunction with the PAL Board and Administration. • All parents and students are encouraged to become involved in our PALs organization. • You will receive a link to submit your email and phone number to PAL so that your Class PAL will be able to add you to their class mailing list. Goals • Academics is our priority at PGA. • Several fundraising opportunities will be available throughout the school year through PAL. • We are confident that our Pinecrest families will continue to support our school through participation in these events. Ms. C. Perez and Ms. Ros Students will have assignments from each teacher with specified due dates. Work will be turned in via Google Classroom. • Students are responsible for regularly visiting each teacher’s Google Classroom for online assignments and due dates. • No eating or drinking during class time. • Student appropriate backgrounds may be accessed on the PGA website under Virtual Backgrounds for Zoom. • Students are responsible for turning in all assignments by their due date. • Student assignments will be graded and uploaded to the grade book.

Students MUST wear a PGA shirt when attending zoom classes. Students must have ALL materials ready to start the day. Students MUST be aware that chats/meeting are being recorded, therefore, proper classroom etiquette is expected.
