Progress Reports • Grades will be available online through the Home Access Center and will usually be updated daily. • I will also tell each student their grade periodically to be recorded on their grade sheet in their binder and signed by you. • Interim Progress Reports will be posted online in Home Access at the halfway point of each marking period.

How to Get Help *If your child is struggling encourage them to arrange for extra help, otherwise send an email or write a note so arrangements can be made (Lunch, before or afterschool) After school homework club with a teacher Online tutorials available with textbook

Keystone Exams Ø Keystone Exams are given to any student who is taking a Full Year Algebra 1 Course. (Algebra 1 Part 1 does not take it) Ø Keystone Exam scores in 8 th Grade count towards the High School AYP numbers. Ø Failure to pass the Algebra 1 Keystone Exam in 8 th Grade will result in a remediation class requirement in next year’s schedule at NHS. Ø Given the fast pace of the Algebra 1 Course and the ramifications of the Keystone Exam, if you see your child is struggling, do not hesitate to contact me to discuss possible options. ØLast year Sandburg had 96% of the Algebra I students pass the Keystone Exam.

PSSA Thank you for an outstanding effort on last years PSSA. Sandburg was 85% Proficient/Advanced. We must continue to work even harder and get that number over 90%!
