In Kindergarten we place a lot of emphasis on social skills. Children must learn to follow rules, be responsible, and get along with others. Our class will be discussing our Class Rules during the first week of school. We will use “P. A. W. S. ” for our school-wide positive behavior initiative and a “golden ticket” system to monitor classroom behavior. In our school we have the following expectations: We expect children to be: P-proud K-kind S-safe
In our classroom we will follow these rules: 1. Follow directions quickly 2. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat 3. Raise your hand for permission to speak 4. Make smart choices 5. Make your dear teacher happy We will use a colored behavior chart. Students will begin each day on Green “Ready to Learn”. Positive choices will enable students to move up to Purple “ Excellent Choice” and Pink “Outstanding”. Negative choices may cause the child to move down to Yellow “Warning” and Red “Parent Contact”. Students may move up and down throughout the day. If a child is on red at the end of the day parents will be notified. Students who avoid red for the entire week will earn a positive behavior coupon.
