Box Tops Please save and send Box Tops for Education to help raise money for our classroom. Homework/AR Homework will be sent home as needed. However, you will need to study for our weekly spelling, vocabulary and multiplication tests. You will also need to review sight words and fluency passages nightly with your child. We will have timed weekly multiplication test on Monday and if 100% is not scored on Monday they have the whole week to achieve the facts. We will also have a weekly P. O. D. ( Problem of the day) and will test on those on Friday. The spelling test will occur every Thursday and vocabulary tests will occur on Fridays. Students are expected to read their AR book a minimum of 20 minutes nightly. Students are required to have 8 AR points every 4 ½ weeks. Students should be testing on 1 book per day, unless it is a chapter book. Parents please be sure your child is reading regularly. I will be sending home their progress weekly, with their weekly papers. Communication Folders Your child’s orange communication folder will be very important this year. All newsletters, homework, important notes etc. will be placed in that folder. Please check the folder daily and send all money or important documents to school in that folder. Mrs. Nelson’s Tips for 3 rd Grade Success: 1. Read an AR picture book nightly and test each morning! 2. Study your multiplication facts nightly! (Make flash cards, this really helps!) 3. Practice your fluency passages and sight words nightly! 4. Always keep a good attitude! Don’t give up!
