What will I be doing this year in Advanced Technology Applications? • This is a project-based capstone course to provide Engineering and Technology Education students with the opportunity to develop a project from "vision" to "reality". Students work in teams to design, engineer, manufacture, construct, test, redesign, test again, and then produce a finished "project. "
How is class going to be? • We’ll be on time every day, class is required for attendance, during the first few minutes of class I will be taking attendance. Then, I will be lecturing and directing you to what you’ll have to do for the asynchronous part of class.
How Am going to be graded? • We are on block schedule and on virtual learning; therefore, some assignments will be done at the end of the week and some will take a little longer. You are expected to be working on your assignments during the asynchronous part of my class period (no teacher guided part of class)
How will I be graded? • • • Assignments will be turned in, in different ways and will be explain depending on the assignment. Some ways will be in Solid Professor, Picture via Remind, file uploaded to my website. Points will be given as follows: A 90% -100% completed – all specification included and maximum effort), B (80%-89% completed – most specifications included), C (70%-79% specifications completed ), D (60%-69% specifications completed), F (0%-59% specifications completed).
What are the guidelines in this classroom? Mrs. Molina’s Classroom Guidelines • • • BE COURTEOUS • Contribute respectfully to the work happening in the virtual room. Encourage others. • • BE PREPARED BE ON TIME FOLLOW ALL PROCEDURES AND POLICIES Always be prepared to begin class with all the necessary materials Pay attention in class. Take notes as needed and concentrate during lectures and explanations. Do not talk or cause any disruption that distracts others from learning. Make sure your mike is off.
What are the guidelines in this classroom? • Do not take pictures or video anyone in this virtual room I will let you know when you need take a picture of the explanation of a project or assignment. • Use class time wisely. Stay on task, whether it is in group work(yes, we’ll do this) or individual work. • Be responsible for your own learning. You will have assignments all the time. Always ask questions and get help on material you do not un- derstand
What are the guidelines in this classroom? • Please make sure you always stay with the schedule. It is really difficult to catch up once you are behind. • Put forth solid effort and be proud of your work as it is an extension of yourself.
Classroom Guidelines
Guideline #1 As soon as our class starts: • You can say hello to me and your classmates. • Make sure you have your journal to take notes with. • Seat comfortable in your study area wearing your uniform shirt. • Wait for me to start taking attendance.
Guideline #3 Follow directions the first time they are given.
Guideline #4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.
Guideline #5 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the TERRA Environmental Research Institute and Miami Dade County Public Schools Handbooks.
Special Guideline • This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this school year.
Following Guidelines will result in: • Verbal Acknowledgement • A Stress-free learning environment • A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere
Not Following Guidelines will result in: • 1 st Warning, possible grade cut, parent contact • 2 nd Warning, grade cut, parent contact. • 3 rd Teacher Parent Conference and conduct grade cut. • 4 th Write Referral to counselor and Administration/Teacher/Parent conference. • 5 th Dismissal from TERRA Environmental Research Institute.
Severe Clause • Any student who uses profanity, fights, or is disrespectful (as defined by ME) will be ask to leave the virtual class and will wait for me to schedule a parent/teacher/administrator conference.

When you are tardy • Enter the virtual class quietly • Excused: Put your name in the chat so that I can change attendance.

Scheduled check out • Please let me know as you enter the virtual classroom. • Talk or write on chat to call my attention • Leave at the scheduled time • If it is an emergency, quickly write it on chat or send me a Remind.
Classroom Discussions • PLEASE participate. • I want to hear what you have to say. • Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. • If your question is off topic, write it down and ask later.
