A limerick is a short and fun five-line poem with a distinctive rhythm. WHAT

A limerick is a short and fun five-line poem with a distinctive rhythm. WHAT IS A LIMERICK The first, second, and fifth lines are longer than the third and fourth lines. The rhyming pattern (rhyme scheme) is AABBA. The longer A lines rhyme with each other, and the shorter B lines rhyme with each other.

There was an Old Man with a nose, (A) Who said, "If you choose to suppose (A) That my nose is too long (B) You are certainly wrong! (B) That remarkable Man with a nose. (A) As you can see, lines 1, 2, & 5 rhyme, and lines 3 & 4 make a separate rhyme as well. Every stanza is like a poem, telling a story in itself. ,
