Mrs. Brown’s Rockin’ News! January 3, 2017 Vocabulary What we are learning! Reading Students will be in differentiated guided reading groups at their instructional level. We will be reading a variety of narratives to help us when writing our own Word Work This week our pattern are the long u with silent e. We will work on the pattern all week. Partial credit will be given for parts of words. Grammar Commas with dates and in a series These words are practiced daily and will be part of our weekly reading quiz. Atmosphere- the air and other gases around Earth Decision- what happens when a person makes up his or her mind about something Landscape- a view of a large area of land Miniature- something that is very, very small Surface- the outside part of an object Vast- something that is very large Writing Narratives Math measurement Social Studies Historical Figures Science Health Homework Read each night and log your books. After your child reads 20 books they will be given a charm. When you complete a reading log each month you will also get a Book It from Pizza Hut!
