Grading Progress Reports & Report Cards Pass vs. Fail 1 st 6 Weeks Progress……. . 9/18 Retention is likely if a nd 2 6 Weeks Progress…. . … 11/6 student fails 3 classes st 1 Semester Report Card…. 1/8 in 6 th grade. This is determined by averaging the grades 4 th 6 Weeks Progress…. . … 2/26 for both semesters. 5 th 6 Weeks Progress……. . 4/15 For example, if Little Johnny 2 nd Sem. Report Card (mailed). . 6/1 makes a 65 in math for Honor Roll A’s or A’s and B’s AND ALL S’s in conduct Semester 1, he needs a 75 in math for Semester 2 to have a 70 (passing) average for the year.

MATH – How can you help your child be successful? • Make sure your child is completing nightly homework • PLEASE don’t say, “I was never good at math either. ” That often makes it seem like the kids have a “pass. ” • Check the blog for fun games and videos if your child isn’t proficient • Make sure your child is studying for Friday’s quiz/test • Use the MSG!! (The study guide for the unit is already there!!) • Be knowledgeable of the topics your child is learning, and point them out in everyday situations. Show them math in the “real world” to help them see the relevance. • Ask your child to show you what he or she is learning
