Resource and Recovery Act �This act requires the producers of the hazardous waste to keep records of the hazardous waste from the time it was produced to the time it is properly disposed in an approved facility

The Superfund Act �In the 1980’s Congress passes a law to prevent companies from disposing hazardous waste illegally to avoid the expenses. �It gives the EPA (environmental protection agency) the right to sue the companies.

Land Disposal �Deep well injection – the hazardous materials is injected into the ground absorbed by the dry rock then sealed with cement. �Surface impoundment - a pond with a sealed bottom.

Other Ways of Handling Hazardous Waste �Biological treatment – chemical and biological agents may be added to bring down the toxicity �Incinerating – burning the hazardous waste �Exporting- transporting them to less populated areas
