CLASSROOM RULES & PROCEDURES • Be on time! This means each student is in

CLASSROOM RULES & PROCEDURES • Be on time! This means each student is in their assigned seat prior to the last bell ringing. • Be prepared. Students should have sharpened pencils and paper. • Once seated, you are to remain seated unless you have permission to move about the room. • Backpacks are to go under you desk. • Be honest • Be respectful • Cell phones and tablets are not permitted, unless authorized by Mr. Williams. • Finally, the bell does not release you. Stay seated until the class is released

ATTENDANCE AND TARDY : • Students are expected to be in class and on

ATTENDANCE AND TARDY : • Students are expected to be in class and on time every day. Students who are late without a pass will receive one warning before detention is assigned.

MISSED ASSIGNMENTS: • Should you be absent for any reason, it is your responsibility

MISSED ASSIGNMENTS: • Should you be absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to collect the work for days missed. All missed worksheets can be found in the red storage chart located in the front of the class. *Note: worksheets will only remain in your period’s folder for the week and will be replaced the following week. Be sure to collect all work as soon as you return. • If you happen to be absent on the day of a test or quiz, it is always your responsibility to set up a makeup appointment. • It is important to understand that the submission of any and all missed assignments: homework, tests, quizzes, and projects are the sole responsibility of the students

ONLINE GRADEBOOK WILL BE UPDATED WEEKLY AND GRADES ARE WEIGHTED: • Students will be responsible for their behavior and conduct in the classroom. They are given 5 points a day for each class, which students will have the opportunity to keep by actively participating in class discussions, completing classwork/homework. • 30% = Class participation • 25% = Classwork • 25% = Homework • 20% = Assessments

ELA HOMEWORK: • Students will have a reading log to complete once a week.

ELA HOMEWORK: • Students will have a reading log to complete once a week. They will need to read 60 minutes a week at home. They can read out loud to you, silently or you can read to them part of the time. Your child can break the time up however they would like, but I ask that you have them retell what they have read before you sign off on that week.

HISTORY: • This year, the class will be exploring World History, specifically ancient civilizations

HISTORY: • This year, the class will be exploring World History, specifically ancient civilizations from Asia, Europe and the Americas (Incas, Aztecs). There will be some exciting activities and projects that will ensure students’ interest and engagement.
