MPLS Forwarding Class • • The MPLSForwarding calss has label swapping, label poping and

MPLS Forwarding Class • • The MPLSForwarding calss has label swapping, label poping and forwarding functions to forwarding incoming packets to the next hop. The MPLSForwarding module could handle 3 kind of packet format. ►Unlabeled packed (IP packet) ►Labeled packet (Shim Message) ►Optical Frame

• • When the Unlabeled packet (IP packet) or Labeled packet arrived at MPLSForwarding module , it search through either FEC Table to find the matched entry with IP packet or ILM table to find the matched ILM entry with incoming label When the matched one is found , MPLSForwarding module adds or swaps the found label on the received packet and pushes it to the proper MPLS Interface

Shim Message • Shim. Message contains forwarding information that is needed to determine the outgoing label and outgoing interface. • Label value is used to label exchange and marking is used to notify this packet is eligible to discard when network congestion.

LSP Monitor Parameters • Support LSP monitor functionality at ingress and egress LSR. •

LSP Monitor Parameters • Support LSP monitor functionality at ingress and egress LSR. • In ingress LSR , we can monitor the utilization , packet loss ratio by the traffic policy. • In egress LSR , we can measure the end -to-end delay , average end-to-end delay , jitter and minimum/ maximum packet delay.
