OPENING SEQUENCE SCRIPT Script Scene 1 • (Car pulling up) • Mother: (sound of her heels walking towards the front door) Scene 2 • Boy: (gasps) Scene 3 • Boy: (Running down the hall) • Boy: (Hugs mother tightly) • Mother: (Surprised, slightly annoyed) Oh honey, I have to go or else I’ll be late • Boy: (Still holding onto mother) Can you at least read me a bedtime story before you go? • Mother: I wish I could but I (looks down at her child, seeing his sad face) …alright, alright. I’ll read you a bedtime story, but only one. Then after that, I will have to go and leave you with the babysitter. • Boy: Deal • [Holding onto her son (Boy), they both walk down the hall into the son’s room]
OPENING SEQUENCE SCRIPT Scene 4 • Mother: (looks at son) Okay, what book do you want me to read? • Boy: (crawls into bed) Anything is fine. • Mother: Okay (grabs a book and sits down). We’ll read this one then (shows her son the book). • Mother: (clears throat) [say the first few words of the beginning of the story here] • Boy: No, no that’s all wrong. (Grabs book and throws it across the room). That’s not how the story goes. • Mother: (confused, startled) Oh…okay then. How does the story really go. • Boy: Well, once upon a time there was a girl (looks up at mom) and her name was Zero (the boy’s voice fades out as a black screen fades out) Scene 5 • Zero: (Zero is looking down at a grave, or kneeling down before a grave, whimpering or tearing up silently) • Mad Hatter: (Hatter is walking, whispering to himself) strange land this is (stops and makes a weird laugh) so dark and cold, like no happiness shall be afloat (Hatter continues to walk and mumble then stops once Zero is spotted. He runs towards her with open arms and hugs her) Young lady with so much sorrow, do not worry. Life will be…
OPENING SEQUENCE SCRIPT • Zero: (surprised annoyed, whacks the Mad Hatter) • Mad Hatter: (touching place where he was attacked) Despicable woman. (Slowly going mad) If it’s a fight you want, it’s a fight you get. (Starts to attack Zero, but after a while a girl approaches and steps between them) • Alice: Stop it! (looks over at the Mad Hatter and sees him charging towards Zero who is down on the floor and looking at Alice) Hatter! (The Mad Hatter goes to a sudden halt and looks over at Alice who is glaring at him) (The Mad Hatter rethinks his action while looking confused and Alice turns to Zero, helping her up) Sorry about that, he could get quite mad at times. Zero: (Zero is up from the floor, wiping dirt and other things from her clothes, unamused) You think? • Alice: …. . I’m Alice by the way (curtsies) • Zero: (Zero glares at Alice) Zero • Alice: Nice to meet you Zero (locks arms with Zero and walks, dragging Zero along) Scene 6 • Zero: (silent and confused, stumbling) • Alice: This a strange, and that is saying a lot because where I come from everything is upside down and out of the ordinary • (In the background the March Hare runs after the Dormouse with a jar of jam in his hands) • Alice: You see where I come from cats can disappear, caterpillars talk, (March Hare shouts at Dormouse) and the flowers are cruel. • (March Hare catches Dormouse and places jam on his nose) • Zero: (glances to the side and sees Captain Hook and Peter Pan)
