Motorola Solutions: Environment, Health, and Safety Engineer Internship Courtney Buralli Liza Morrison CPH: 4850 Undergraduate Internship in Public Health Overview • Motorola Solutions, based in Schaumburg, IL & conducted virtually Below: A sample slide from the COVID-19 Training presentation Personal Assessment § The courses Death at Work and Health, Work, and the Environment provided me a strong foundation of knowledge for this role • Interned with the department of Environment, Health, and Safety as an EHS Engineer Intern • Analyzed and presented information regarding COVID-19, and its effect on occupational health and safety § My biggest accomplishment with Motorola was the creation and presentation of the COVID-19 Training Powerpoint • Contributed to the rollout of a new training program used in field services § Being in a virtual environment, I did not anticipate the amount of networking opportunities that were available Below: tour of the Elgin, IL facility § Skills gained or improved: § Professional communication § Deeper understanding of occupational and safety § Research and analysis Project Description Conclusions + Future Impact • First project addressed COVID-19 and “WFH” • I plan pursue this same, or similar opportunities next summer • This experience has cemented my industrial hygiene and occupational health goals into my plans • I compiled resources and information in the form of Power.
