Task 1 Get into pairs having one person facing the board (Person A) whilst the other faces away (Person B). Person A will be shown a distance-time graph, they must explain the journey that it shows to Person B draws a graph of the journey being described. The graph they draw must be exactly the same as the one displayed. © OCR 2017

Scenario 1 1. James starts out south of home. After 10 seconds he has reached a speed of 40 km/h. 2. He continues at this speed for a further 40 seconds. 3. He then hits a deer and comes to a stop in 3 seconds. 4. He stays there for 5 seconds before fleeing the scene of the crime, James takes off again in the same direction, speeding up and reaching a speed of 80 km/h in 5 seconds. 5. When his conscience gets the better of him 10 seconds later, he slows, and stops in 10 seconds. © OCR 2017

Scenario 2 1. Maria decides to drive to work. She speeds to 35 km/h in 10 seconds and remains at this speed for 5 seconds. 2. She then sees the traffic light and slows down to a stop in 5 seconds. 3. 20 seconds later she then speeds on to the dual carriageway at 75 km/h in 10 seconds. 4. She remains at this speed for 30 seconds before arriving at work. She slows the car to a stop in 15 seconds. © OCR 2017
