Network Development and Co-ordination Chatham-Kent United Way with Ontario Not. For Profit Network: “On Friday, November 22, 2013, 52 representatives of local non-profits, foundations, and government officials attended the Ontario Non-profit Network Regional Meeting. At this meeting, the group voted on the need and benefits of forming the Chatham. Kent Non-profit Network. ”
Significance of Outcome to Mission of Chatham-Kent United Way The United Way of Chatham-Kent’s mission is to build stronger communities. The network empowers local non-profits to build more community capacity and improve the lives of their clients and families. The formation of this group demonstrates increased trust among “competitors. ” The social and economic impact generated by nonprofits in Chatham-Kent has been poorly recognized, which leads to issues of funding and stability causing non-profits locally to compete against one another to secure funding for pressing needs.
