Moses' Seat - Saved to Serve! Matt 23: 1 -39 "Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? ” 5 Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!" (Haggai 1: 3 -5)

Matthew 23: 1 -3. . from the NKJV. . . Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

Matthew 23: 4 -7. . from the NKJV. . . For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, 7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi. ’

Matthew 23: 8 -12. . from the NKJV. . . 8 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. .

Who is Moses? üMoses at birth was hidden from death - Exo 1: 15 -16. üMoses was SAFED by God's grace and FAVORED to be raised in the house of Pharaoh - Acts 7: 22. üMoses was CALLED and SENT by God with power to deliver His people from sin and slavery and to WORSHIP Him - Acts 7: 32. And in this brief, the JOB of Moses' seat is SAVED TO SERVE!

Two Characteristics of Moses are: q He was a man FULL of FAITH -"By faith Moses, when he became of age, REFUSED to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, " - Hebrew 11: 24. -Heb 11: 6. ; 2 Cor. 5: 7. ; Heb 11: 8 -10. q He was FAITHFUL - "And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, " - Hebrews 3: 5. -Matt 25: 21.

What was Moses - Saved To Serve? ü The Spiritual Temple of God – “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. ” - 1 Cor. 3: 16 ü The Physical Temple of God - “…Is it time for yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? ” 5 Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!" - Haggai 1: 3 -5. Moses' Seat - Saved to Serve the "Temple of God!"

The PURPOSE of the SEAT! THE Purpose of the SEAT of Moses -IS To SAVE us(PEOPLE) from SIN and to worship our LORD God forever. - In John 1: 17, "For the Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ” - John 3: 14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. ”

How is this PURPOSE at WORK in YOU? In 2 Cor. 6: 16 -18… This is what the LORD says, • You are My temple - You who is SAVED to SERVE! • He dwells and walks among us - You who is SAVED to SERVE! He is our Father and we are His sons and daughters, therefore He says, • Come out from among them - You who is SAVED to SERVE! • Be separated - You who is SAVED to SERVE! • Do not touch what is unclean - You who is SAVED to SERVE! Dishonor God's Name no MORE! Psalm 4: 2 -3, "How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood? But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly; …”
