Training vs Treatment Many people believe that they are not actually treating a disease or disorder but they are providing bio or neurofeedback in an educational model. If unlicensed, it is legal to work with a golfer on focus or to teach someone to relax, but illegal to treat his migraine or seizure disorder unless you are under supervision.
Training vs Treatment cont’d BCIA has taken this stance to protect and enhance the field. BCIA’s main goal is to make sure that bio and neurofeedback are held in the appropriate esteem and not put into a category of junk science. If one is licensed, they must work only in their area of expertise and scope of practice.
Why should I certify? There is no license nor recognized pattern of education and training for bio or neurofeedback. Protection of the public by letting them know exactly how you were trained Enhanced stature Recognized educational standards Gain respect from within healthcare and other fields
