Monte Vista Football Freshman - 2020 ● ● Values and Goals ○ Commitment, Effort, Discipline, Teamwork, Communication ○ Goal 1: Safety - While I can’t guarantee your player will not get hurt. Myself and the staff will do everything in our power to decrease the chances. ○ Goal 2: Build character values above. ○ Goal 3: Build a love for the game! Monte Vista Football Freshman - 2020 Time Commitment ○ You already have the training and summer camp schedules up until Aug 10. If the summer camp schedule changes I will let you know immediately but we are planning for 8 -10 am Mon Thu. There will be 4 separate group sessions during that time frame. ○ I will send you the full details of the summer camp guidelines from the district ○ Practice during the season will be from 4 -6 Mon-Wed. Games on Thu. Please remind your players to try and get some homework done at the Workday center prior to suiting up for practice or a game. All of us coaches will remind them daily as well. ○ We regularly have film sessions on Fri after school or Sat morn. Those may become virtual Playing Time ○ Commitment and Effort are the 2 biggest traits we look at with playing time. ○ Knowledge and Ability are very important as well but I will look for those previous 2 traits first. ○ Limited 5 th quarter opportunities.
Monte Vista Football Freshman - 2020 ● Team Rules ○ Any type of bullying or harassment of another player will 100% not be tolerated. This includes property of another player as well. ○ If I see anything like this I will talk to the player(s) immediately, then inform you parents, and we will discuss it together, and the player(s) could be suspended. ○ If your player informs you first and I was not witness to it please inform me immediately. My staff will be on the lookout as well. ○ We require at least 1 practice participation Mon-Wed for your player to suit up in the game. With games on Thu we have a lot less time to prepare. If a player plans to miss a practice or game I need the player or parent (preferably the player so he learns responsibility) to alert me prior to. No call/No shows will not be accepted. ○ 24 hour rule after games. There should be no contact to myself, or especially anyone else on my staff until at least the weekend outside of injury, health, or absence notifications. If you have concerns over how the game was played, your player’s involvement or any other criticisms please wait until the weekend and I will address every one. If you just want to give us a congrats or say something positive feel free of course.
