Who We Are Cherry. Road Technologies – Oracle ERP is all we do plus years implementing Oracle applications Cities percent of our business in the public sector Counties States plus implementation/ upgrade engagements Transit Authorities K-12 26

What We Did Hosted ERP System (Private Cloud) Application : People. Soft Database: Oracle 12 c Web/App Tier: Exalogic Database Tier: Exadata 27

What We Did Define SLA’s § Performance Testing – Pick most common transactions – Establish baseline metrics • Benchmark: sub-3 second § Service Level Agreements – Online Performance (90 th %ile) – Batch Performance (elsewhere) – RTO/RPO (also elsewhere) HOW TO MONITOR SLA COMPLIANCE? 28

What We Used Oracle Management Cloud - Application Performance Monitoring (APM) This right here 29

What We Used § Why did we choose APM? – Implementation • Automatic End User Monitoring (EUM) – no separate client-side Java. Script • Delivered integration – Web. Logic and People. Soft logging – Features • Transaction Level Monitoring • Customer-facing UI § What do we use it for? – Service Level Agreement compliance – Troubleshooting – Proactive Diagnosis 30

What We Used APM Dashboard 31

What We Used Transaction and Server Monitoring 32

What We Used Transaction Monitoring by URL String Search 33

What We Used Monthly SLA Reporting 34

What We Used Server Utilization and Health 35

What We Used Root Cause Analysis 36

What We Used Alerts 37

What We Learned § Define SLA’s very clearly – Establish and agree on benchmarks early on – Identify representative transactions – Set expectations – not everything is included § Choose the right monitoring tool – Non-intrusive implementation – Delivered and configurable API’s § Understand capabilities of tool – SLA Monitoring & Reporting – Issue Root Cause Analysis – Proactive Alerts 38
