Group B – Binder Check on FRIDAY, 8/23 3. Present Posters in class on MONDAY, August 26 th Essential Question: What is my DREAM college? Objective: I will research information about my dream college.
College Poster Project � Monday – research/ print out information for board � Tuesday – research/ print out information for board � Block day – Blank poster board is due for 20 points – write your name on it!! � Friday – You will have FRIDAY class period ONLY to work on your poster in class (use markers, cut and paste, etc. ) after you are done with your binder check/IC check � Next Monday - We will present posters to the class � You will turn in your information worksheet as well as present your poster
College Poster Scoring Rubric Grading Based On: Content (5 points each) - Location of College - Size of College - Environment - Admissions Requirements - Academics - College Expenses - Financial Aid - Housing - Facilities - Activities Presentation - Makes eye contact with audience - Speaks loudly, clearly, and with enthusiasm Visual Appeal - Poster is neat and visually appealing - Posters has at least 6 pictures Total Possible Points Your Points 50 30 20 100

Warm-Up Place the following tutorial steps in the correct order: A. Student presents their 30 second speech B. Complete your pre-work on your TRF form C. Teacher collects and grades the TRFs and 3 column notes D. Tutorial members ask questions to help guide them to solve their POC E. Take Cornell notes in your classes F. Students get into tutorial groups of no more than 7: 1 G. Students apply their learning in their academic classes H. Students reflect on the tutorial process I. Repeat the last 2 steps until all groups members have presented their question J. Teacher collects TRF forms as you enter the classroom

Working on Posters � You can use any of the materials I have in the classroom ◦ Scissors, glue sticks, markers, colored pencils, craft paper/ scratch paper, etc. ◦ Whatever you don’t finish in class, must be finished at home as homework ◦ If you are done and want to leave it here, you can ◦ Please be RESPECTFUL of my classroom and CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!! ◦ Presentations will be Monday – be ready!!! Practice presenting your poster
Binder Checks/ Infinite Campus Check � Group B: ◦ Pull out your binder grade check form from the sheet protector ◦ Make sure you have: �All of your DATED notes – READY to show �Your completed agenda �All of your required materials � Group A: ◦ Use your phones to look up your grades on Infinite Campus ◦ Complete the packet and turn in to the basket ◦ Since this is the first check, you do not need to fill in “% in the class from the LAST grade check”
