Monday, March 23 Sock Ball Basketball Get a pair of socks and make a sockball. You will also need a trashcan. Place the trashcan in the center of the room. Set up three places to shoot from. Practice your shots from the different points. Invite someone to play one – one with you! REPEAT 3 x (or more!)
Tuesday, March 24 Sockball Kickball Choose a room with plenty of space. Invite a parent or sibling to play with you. Set up goals (a line across the floor) at each end of the room. Move the sockball with your feet down the playing area. Try to score in opponent’s goal by kicking it over their goal line. • • • Play to 5 points Winner Chooses • Exercises for Opponent • to Complete Curl-Ups Lunges “Mountain Climbers”
Wednesday, March 25 Sockball Air Hockey Clean off your dining room table and invite someone to play with you. You will need a sock ball and a plastic cup person. Sit at opposite ends of the table and use the cup to push the sock ball down the table. Opponent uses their cup to push it back and try not to let it fall off their side of the table. You score a point if they can’t block it and it falls off. Play to 5 points. You can also make a playing area on the floor if you’re not allowed to use the table. REPEAT 3 x (or more!)
Thursday, March 26 Sockball Catching and Throwing Get Your Sockball and invite someone to play with you. Work on your catching and throwing skills (underhand overhand). Throw with your dominate and non-dominate hand as well as practice catching with both dominate and nondominate hand. Practice for 15 -20 minutes.
Friday, March 27 Sockball Challenge! Create your own sockball activity/sport/game and share it with me in our Google Classroom! Create a game, show a sport, or make an activity using your sockball. Tell us about what you did in Coach Long’s google classroom.
