Democracy A system of government in which citizens vote based on the principle of majority rule. Majority rulecitizens agree to abide by what most people want.
Republic Citizens choose a smaller group of elected officials to represent and lead the people.
Authoritarian A Non-Democratic system of government in which one person or a group of people have strict control over a country.
Monarchy A government ruled by a king or queen (royalty), usually through bloodline or heredity.
Dictatorship Government ruled by one person or a small group of people. Usually rules by force and often controls the police and military.
Totalitarianism The Government has complete(Total) control over the people’s lives. A dictatorship can be a type of totalitarian government
Theocracy Government ruled by a church or religion
Aristocracy A Government ruled by the wealthy elite.
