Modular Nondestructive Aluminum Sensitization Quantification and Mitigation System, Electra. Watch, Inc. , FY 16 -Do. N-RIF-NAVSEA-02 Contribution to the Requirement: Total Ownership Reduction Relevance / How Technology Addresses Requirement • Accurate work specifications = 50% reduction in growth work. • 92% Cost Savings vs. destructive testing costs. • Decreased material replacement costs associated with crack repair and welding repairs on: deck tie downs, bolt on patches, L-bracket installations, drill stops and mounted equipment. Transition • System will be transitioned as upgrade modules for 7 existing government owned (CNRMC) Do. S Probe systems. • No acquisition costs beyond those presented in this proposal. TRL: Current – 6 Technical Approach/Qualifications Project Objectives and Scope: • Design, develop, and demonstrate Mitigation module to reverse sensitization in localized areas identified by the quantification module • Integrate with (existing) Quantification module Key Personnel, Facilities / Equipment • Electra. Watch, Inc. - Systems integration & project mgmt. • Concurrent Technologies Corporation - Mitigation module. • Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock. Tech oversight. Related Prior or Current Work: • Quantification Module: NAVSEA 21, NAVSEA 05, ONR SWAMPWORKS, ONR RTT, ONR TIPS, ONR STTR, CIT • Mitigation Module: Navy Metalworking Center project S 2576 Anticipated – 9 Cost and Schedule Cost: $1, 986, 390 (includes 7 upgraded field units) Major Activities/Milestones: • Mitigation module maintains adequate heat treatment profile • Integration of Quantification and Mitigation modules Deliverables / Measures of Success: • “Go/No Go” Decision based on lab testing of mitigation module • Successful field demos of integrated system • NAVSEA 05 nonferrous technical warrant holder approval • Upgrade all 7 Do. S Probe field kits currently owned by CNRMC Potential Risks: • Laboratory results not indicative of field performance. Mitigated by multiple field testing events and design improvements.
