MODEST FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY BY DANIA ALI KEY PURPOSE
MODEST FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY BY DANIA ALI
KEY PURPOSE OF THE BRIEF The key purpose of the brief is to use all my knowledge and skills that I have gained since the start of the year. Since the start of the year we have learnt skills such as using adobe premier to edit our videos, Photoshop for editing images and so on. The key aim of the brief is to make sure that I am confident with the skills I have learnt and that I am able to use them for my Unit 8 project.
TARGET AUDIENCE • My project for unit 8 is aimed at young people aged 15 - 35 roughly. The reason for this is because of the fact my project is based on modest fashion photography. Usually young people tend to be more interested in fashion as well as that age being able to afford certain clothing's and being aware of brands, trends and so on… My aim is to target it at both genders so male and female because equality is important and I should allow everyone to be interested in this.
TECHNIQUES I WILL USE • Skills in Photoshop • Skills from workshops as well as You. Tube videos • Camera techniques • Confidence and allowing my self to use my skills in my work. • Lighting , focusing camera and so on
CONSTRAINTS • Official deadline 9 th June • Time management • Creating a proposal – 8 week schedule, • Research log that will help form my idea as well as keep up to date with everything.
REASONING OF IDEA • I chose this idea for my project because of the fact I wanted to o something which means something to me. However, the main reason I chose this idea is to do something different to my previous projects. I wanted to base my project on photography to show off my skills as well as prove that I have skills in every sector. The reason I did this is because I am inspired by Lomond's modest fashion week. It inspired me because of the fact modest fashion can still be wearable and fashionable. People tend to think that if we dress modestly we look scruffy or unattractive. However, that isn’t the case at all. I am inspired by Dina tokio who helped break stereotypes.
LOCATIONS • Manchester college , Shena Simon • Gay village • Piccadilly gardens • Manchester Andale • Oxford road
MODELS AND HELPERS I will have 2 models for my project. I decided to have both a male and a female modelin my photography to make it even and show that both genders can be equal as well as Each other. My models are: 1 - A female model 2 -A male model However, I will be the one who is taking the pictures. I will also responsible for the editing an making sure the settings are in the correct format.
CHALLENGES I WILL FACE • During the process of taking photos, I will go through some challenges which may affect the outcome of my photography. However, it may cause some issues which will result in changing the schedule of my photography. • 1 - One important challenge I may face is my camera running out of charge and that will result in a failure of having the photos for the day. To prevent this I will ensure that I have charged my camera beforehand carry a spare battery with me. • 2 - The weather may result in me unable to take great photos. This is because if it starts to rain it can distract my model and I cant get a clear shot especially with rain interfering and changing the models facial expressions. To prevent this risk I will check the weather forecast beforehand • 3 - Brightness an exposure may need to be adjusted due to the lighting and atmosphere.
LEGAL, ETHICAL AND COPYRIGHT • Some issues which I have to pay attention to are legal an ethical aspects. For example I would need to have some sort of consent from my models who are taking part in my photography to ensure i have their permission to be in my film. This will prevent any issues in the future. • everything must be apprpiate for the viewers.
WHAT WILL MAKE IT A SUCCESS • Taking pictures is quite hard if I don’t know how to use the camera. However to make it successful I will need to follow the brief and attend workshops to ensure that I know how to use a camera an take great shots. However I will also watch You. Tube videos to ensure that I am confident when taking shots. • I will ensure that I keep up to date with my schedule a it will give me time to finish everything off. If I keep to a schedule that means I can workout what I need to do when an allow my models to know when they have to o what they need to do.
PROCESS OF MAKING IT Like I said previously I will nee to ensure that I keep to date with my schedule to allow me to finish what I need to finish. Below Is my schedule for my photography sessions: • 7 th June- take photographs an upload onto computer • 9 thjune- complete • and submit my coursework.
WHAT OPPORTUNITY WILL THIS PROJECT GIVE ME • Help give me exposure • Improvements such as gaining more skills to improve for year 2 • Social media and helping my purpose grow with a larger audience
