An outstanding student in MFL… 1. Uses their PLC (Personalised Learning Checklist). 2. Practices at home using the resources provided. 3. Revises vocabulary frequently and tests themselves. 4. Makes mind maps or flash cards for every tense which is studied. 5. Acts on teacher feedback. 6. Practises their speaking skills by reading vocabulary and their end of module answers out loud. 7. Asks their teacher for additional support if they have any concerns or questions.

An outstanding student in Latin… 1. Attends all Twilight and Intervention sessions 2. Revises vocabulary frequently and tests themselves 3. Uses Quizlet for information on both language and literature 4. Completes revision activities from the Latin textbooks 5. Acts on teacher feedback 6. Asks their teacher for additional support if they have any concerns or questions.

How can you help your child? Encourage a routine of ‘little and often’ to help your child remember key verbs, structures and vocabulary. Test your child on what they can recall from their PLCs / End of Module Answers / vocabulary lists / mind maps. Monitor their progress against their PLC (Personalised Learning Checklist), from their textbooks and online at www. pearsonactive. co. uk. Liaise early with staff if you are concerned.
