Bus: predominant means of public transport n n Main lines 11, 12, 13 with service every 30 minutes from 05: 45 to 23: 15. 10 minutes service in rush hours on the main artery Schaan-Balzers. ISO 14001 at INFICON n INFICON in Balzers is certified according to ISO 9001 (since 1994) and ISO 14001 (since 1998). n ISO 14001: An honest energy and material flow analysis must also take the energy consumption for the journey to work into consideration. n 1998: journey to work caused towards 50% of the total energy consumption at about 65% motorized individual transport. n Active mobility management since 1999. n One of our environmental goals is the reduction of energy consumption and emissions for the journey to work. 6/9/2021 Mo. Mobility Management: Goals & Team n The goal was formulated in 2000: only 40% motorized individual transport (95% car). n Conditions not very favorable: – Distance: 21% <= 5 km, 72% > 7 km; – Residence: 70% CH, 20% LI, 10% AT; – Bus service Trübbach-Buchs only every 60 minutes; – The river Rhine is a barrier for cycling to work. n Mobility team established: all residential regions, means of transport, organizational units and employees’ representative committee represented. Incentive System: Mobility Club n The Club membership is free and offers many advantages: n Reservation of free day-parking space. n Membership with Mobility Car. Sharing Switzerland. Free use of Mobility cars on work days. n Yearly mobility contribution to members: Top: EUR 320, Plus: EUR 240, Basic: EUR 70. Deduction for people living in close vicinity. n Monthly raffle of EUR 70 for Top members. Yearly raffle of 5 x EUR 70 among those Top members who used up to 4 day-parking spaces only. n 6/9/2021 Mo. Further Incentives n Yearly free bicycle repair day by expert: Company pays an average of EUR 25 per bicycle. n Subsidy for bicycle helmet, EUR 20 once a year. n Special wardrobe for motorcycle clothing; In winter and rainy weather also used by cyclists. n Yearly mobility jackpot lasting 4 weeks. Journey to Work without Car Reasonable n Public transportation is reasonable for distances from home to the bus stop or train station of up to: – 600 m (7 – 9 minutes walk) for all employees – 900 m (10 – 14 minutes walk) till 15 minutes bus ride (direct bus line with frequent service, Trübbach-Vaduz) n Using public transport is reasonable with a journey duration: – <= 3 times as long as by car (about 2/3 of the time is usable) – <= 60 minutes total journey time n Cycling and walking: – 3 km by bicycle with a difference in altitude of about 50 m – 8 to 15 minutes walking are reasonable 6/9/2021 Mo. Fee for Car Parking n Journey to work without car is reasonable: – EUR 480 per year – Monthly salary deduction of EUR 40 n Journey to work without car is NOT reasonable: – EUR 240 per year – Monthly salary deduction of EUR 20 n The criteria of the journey to work without car reasonable are equally valid for ALL employees. n The numbers of the parking lots were allocated by random selection, to treat all car users equally. 6/9/2021 Mo. Mobility Management: Economic Advantage n Yearly costs of mobility management: – Mobility contribution to Club members – Mobility Car. Sharing Switzerland – Actions (mobility jackpot, bicycle promotion, raffles, aso. ) – Parking lots: underground & outdoor n The yearly costs for mobility management incl. work time (20%), minus parking fees are approximately EUR 200'000. n Without mobility management but having 200 underground parking spaces the total costs would be approximately EUR 280'000. n Savings: Approx.
