Positives • No more excuses for students not to have their homework • No more parents getting on the case of teachers for why their student is not performing • Allows for the easier organization of information combined with convenience
More in depth with the pros mobile devices • Students will able to check their assignments online from devices such as cell phones, PDA’s and I Phones. It is even possible for students to post their assignments on class blogs or wiki sites from these handheld toys.
IPhones • The I Phone is the perfect handheld technology for receiving, storing and transferring information. Students with an I Phone will be able to access the internet and therefore their homework (if its placed on the blog) from anywhere in the world, theoretically.
Cons • Students can use devices to cheat • Devices can take away students’ attention • Some students might live in an area where reception is not good
The Cost! • Mobile devices can be very expensive. • If a teachers works in an urban area, there might be reception, but students might not have the means to buy these technologies. • Students can become too reliant on mobile devices and forget how to do assignments the old fashioned way.
