Introduction • Mobile technologies is making its presence felt in today’s modern office environments. The use of mobiles such as Iphones, Blackberry and many Android versions, Tablet PC, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), Workbooks and Laptops are an important asset to any organisation in reaching a wider market. • This unit will help develop the knowledge and skills required to be able to provide your employer with up to date technological assistance. 04/11/2020 BAR 2
Learning Outcomes This unit consists of three outcomes: • Investigate and explain the benefits of using mobile technology to carry out administrative tasks. • Provide recommendations for selecting Applications (Apps) and software to meet the needs of the administrative function. • Plan and organise work using a variety of mobile devices. 04/11/2020 BAR 3

Learning Outcome 2 Covering the following: – Different types of mobile devices – Advantages and Disadvantages of Mobile Technology – Accessing and downloading QR Reader’s – Creating QR Codes and how the benefit the organisation – Cost of implementation of the devices. 04/11/2020 BAR 5

Assessments There will be three assessments using one case study: LO 1 Practical group assessment using research to collect information and record in a collaborate wiki. LO 2 Research and record information in the form of a report of 1000 words. This can be uploaded to a digital environment such as an individual Blog or alternatively as a Power. Point presentation. LO 3 Case study with short response questions under closed book conditions. 04/11/2020 BAR 7
Assessments LO 1 and LO 2 form 50% of the overall total i. e. 20% for the collaborate wiki and 30% for the blog or presentation. LO 3 will be the remaining 50%. • Dates to be advised. 04/11/2020 BAR 8
