What’s MLA anyway? MLA stands for Modern Language Association. English classes require you to use this format when writing. Other courses may ask you to format essays differently.

MLA Formatted Essay • Proper MLA heading, header and running page number • Use Times New Roman or Arial font (12 point size) • Double-space the ENTIRE document! • Center the title (no all caps, no bigger font, no underline) • NO extra spaces between paragraphs!
