Grade 2 Example Solids & Liquids You are at a friend’s house and you both want to play soccer. However, your friend does not have a soccer ball. You search the house and find three balls: a football, a basketball, and a kickball. You will need to decide which ball to use to play soccer. Students will conduct an investigation of the properties of a football, a basketball, a soccer ball, and a kickball. Based on this data the students will write a letter to their friend stating which ball they would use and why. They will use evidence to argue what balls should and should not be used.
