Athletes Lounge
Bike Check – before entering Athlete’s Lounge • • Bike Frame Handle bars with clips-ons Wheels Technology Fraud
Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge • All Team members must check in together • Uniform check • Spare wheels to wheel station. • Body marking check (both arms, both legs) • Timing chip & Swim cap distribution (1 for the ankle) • 2, 3 and 4 th team member will collect the timing chip from the relay zone • Athletes MUST be in the relay check in zone in time to collect chip and be ready • Gear must be in a labelled bag and will be taken to recovery. • Recovery is where athletes 2/3/4 can wait.
Check-in procedures Transition Area • • All Team members must check in together Helmet check Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition Any athlete who fails to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA 1 • Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike • To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee until 10 minutes after the end of this Briefing.
The Course Swim 1 lap of 250 m Bike 2 laps of 3. 5 km (7. 0 km) Run 1 lap of 1. 5 km
Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: • • • 10 minutes before start - line-up at the introduction tent • Team will get introduced together First Athlete • Jog to the platform • Select your position and stay behind the line! • Blocking two positions – immediate DSQ 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th Athletes Stop before going onto the pontoon
Start Procedure Athletes in position: • The start can be given any time after the Race Referee announces ”On your mark” • Air horn blast • The race starts • Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA 1.
False Start Procedures False start • Several horn blasts • Kayaks in front of you • Everyone goes back to her/his spot Valid Start but with Early Starters: • If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false started will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA 1 during which the athlete cannot touch any of their equipment!
Swim course • Today at 14: 00 - Water temperature: 23. 5 °C - Air temperature: 25. 0 °C - Humidity: 38. 3 % • Diving Start, distance to the first turn buoy 145 m • 1 lap (total distance of 250 m) - anticlockwise • Pass first 3 pink buoys on left shoulder , last 2 yellow buoys on right shoulder • Lane rope separating the swim exit/entry • Swim behavior will be closely monitored • Take cap, goggles to transition into your box

Transition Area • Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag • Teams grouped by 4 racks next to each other on the same side • Last team member should place bike closest to the mount line • Running shoes in front of the box, helmet on the bike • All used equipment into your box • not doing so time penalty • Mount line at the end of the TA (GREEN LINE) • Dismount line at the start of the TA (RED LINE)

Bike course • 2 laps (total distance of 7 km) • Flat and technical • 2 Wheel Stations – 1 Team wheel station (Wheel Stop 1) – Discard plastic bottles and litter in the Littering Zone (located the wheel Stations) • Lap Counter: at the end of TA, right hand side

Run course • • 1 lap (total distance of 1500 m ) Aid station: – 1 per lap – For location see the map – Sealed water – Discard plastic bottles and litter in the Littering Zone (located directly after the Aid Stations) • Top 3 Team Members at Finish Area for the photo • Congestion in finish area: – Go to mixed zone / recovery area

Relay Zone • • • Prior to the relay exchange, the athletes will wait in the relay check in zone until the moment when the Technical official tells them to enter the relay zone. Athletes need to be present at the check in area. It is Athletes’ responsibility to be there, collect timing chip and be ready The relay exchange from one team member to another will take place inside the „Relay Zone”
Relay Zone • The relay exchange is completed by the incoming athlete, using their hand to contact the body of the out-going athlete within the relay zone • If the contact occurs outside the relay zone, both athletes must return to the relay zone and complete the exchange properly • If the exchange is not completed inside the relay zone, the team will be disqualified

Run Penalty Box • • The penalty box is for infringements in: TA 1, TA 2, Bike Run Transition will be videotaped for infringements Location: on right prior to last U-turn Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board) Procedure: 10 seconds penalty If you don’t stop it will result in DSQ ANY member of the team can serve the penalty
Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control – Photo ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing
