MISTLETOE PART 2: “Christmas Curse”

Psalm 2: 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. (NKJV)

Psalm 2: 12 - NLT Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities—for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

1. HE IS ENVIOUS Psalm 2: 12 – Kiss the Son, or he will become angry…

Galatians 5: 19 -21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Exodus 20: 4 -5 You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. 5 You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

2. HE IS ESSENTIAL Psalm 2: 12 - Kiss the Son…or be destroyed in the midst of all your activities…

Acts 17: 28 – For in him we live and move and exist. John 15: 5 – Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

3. HE IS ETHICAL Psalm 2: 12 - Kiss the Son…… for his anger flares up in an instant.

NUMBERS 14: 18 The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations.

Galatians 4: 4 -5 But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the 5 law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.
