Miracles Jesus Did Not Perform

JESUS AND MIRACLES Many miracles (Jn. 11: 47; 12: 37; 20: 30) But, sometimes Jesus refused to perform a miracle. Why? What can we learn from this? What is life really about?

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Turn stones into bread when he could have (Mt. 4: 3 -4) Life is about relying upon God’s word, not selfish, quick-fix solutions to life’s problems

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Jump off the temple when he could have (Mt. 4: 5 -7) Life is about trusting God, not making trial of (testing) him and putting him in a position to bail you out

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Heal more people when he could have (Mk. 1: 32 -39) Life is about staying focused on one’s mission, not getting side-tracked

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Call down fire from heaven when he could have (Jn. 9: 51 -56) Life is about being long-suffering, not being quick to destroy others

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Send for 12 legions of angels when he could have (Mt. 26: 53 -56) Life is about following what the scriptures say, not following human wisdom or human plans

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Prophesy who struck him when he could have (Lk. 22: 63 -65) Life is about submissive commitment to God, not revenge, retaliation, or winning a fight

JESUS DID NOT MIRACULOUSLY… Come down from the cross when he could have (Mt. 27: 39 -44) Life is about true, sacrificial love for others, not serving self
