60 minutes 1 hour is the same as 60 minutes. So far, we have looked at O’clock times, half past times, quarter past times and quarter to times. Each of those times represent a different amount of minutes of that hour has happened. The long hand is called the minute hand, and that tells us how many minutes have gone by in that hour. O’clock means 0 minutes have happened in that hour. You are at the start of the hour. Quarter Past means 15 minutes have happened in that hour. Half Past means 30 minutes have happened in that hour. Quarter past means 45 minutes have happened in that hour or you are 15 minutes until the next hour. We can break the clock into quarters
