Hello and Welcome to m Presentation! Take a seat and enjoy. . . My name is Stephany Rios, I am a student in the Business Administration college and I am going to Major in International Business. <- This is the main reason why I chose The North American Free Trade Agreement as my focus for this semester. My focus is on college students, maybe those who don’t pay much attention to political and economic matters right now. I am trying to raise awareness for the United States Mexico Canada Agreement that was signed in November and how it will affect our future.

In this presentation I will be explaining my Visual Argument to you -this project

In this presentation I will be explaining my Visual Argument to you -this project consisted of three things ➔ 1. Research I started the semester with two sources and I ended it with more than 10 ➔ 2. Writing There was lots of writing before I was able to start on the Visual Part. ➔ 3. The Video It will be in the eighth slide so it is up to you if you skip there now or wait it out

It’s all in greek to me! What is. . . Ethos Pathos Logos The rhetorical appeal of persuasion based on the credibility or authority of rhetor. The rhetorical appeal of persuasion based on the emotional response of the audience. The rhetorical appeal of persuasion based on the logic and reasoning of the rhetor.

Ethos. How was it used in my assignment? I am no expert in this field but I am a student of Business. Meaning I am having my fair share of Political Science and Economics Classes, giving me a better knowledge to the workings of International Trade Deals. The reason I know my work is credible is because I used sources who dedicate their profession to investigating and reporting these stories for the business world and the government.

Pathos. How was it used on my assignment? I tried to appeal to the audience by mentioning the jobs that were hurt throughout the years NAFTA has been in place, so people were aware that it will change with this new agreement. I also tried to make my voice use different tones to make It more sympathetic to the those involved. At the end I put in a call to action for people to pay attention to the way things play out, to ask question and stay in the loop. If you want to participate you have to know. I even tried to make the Donald look better.

Logos. How was it used on my assignment? Throughout my video I had the facts about NAFTA and the USMCA. One of the reasons I put in for people to vote for USMCA was because it was a “promise kept, ” and what is more reasonable than Donald Trump following through with a promise he made during his campaign? With the wording you chose for a video or a podcast you have to choose what sounds logical. If a word doesn’t fit into a sentence then that is the difference from making it resonate with the audience or sounding like a not-soknowledgeable- student.

There was a lot To learn from this expirience: ➔ I didn’t know How to make a video on Adobe Sparks and now I do. It’s actually a lot simpler than I thought it would be. The problem was actually learning how to use an ipad to work the application. (I am an android type of gal) ➔ My voice Was also a major problem. I love to talk, but I hate to hear myself when I am recorde on video or microphone. If it is a snapchat filter where it makes me sound like a cute squirrel it’s fine, but take out the home movies and I will put on ear muffs ➔ I also don’t understand How radio show hosts, or podcast talkers and people who have to speak out in front of massive audiences are able to work speak so often without having those major word mess ups! I had to delete so many takes from my video because I would cut off a word, I would say it wrong, or just randomly garblled it up!
