DISCOVERY A black stone which was discovered in Magnesia in Asia Minor called Magnetite could attract iron. A shepherd discovered Magnets accidentally. One day, the iron stick that he was carrying got stuck to a rock and he was unable to pull the iron away. This led to the discovery of magnet.
