AK DEED & MSBSD Migrant Education Program (MEP) GOAL To ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma (or complete a GED) that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning, and productive employment.

MEP Eligibility Children / youth birth to 20 years old who are not yet

MEP Eligibility Children / youth birth to 20 years old who are not yet old enough to attend school or who are entitled to a free public education and have not yet graduated from high school v who travel or “move” with a parent/guardian for commercial fishing, subsistence fishing, fish processing, logging, or farming v a minimum of 20 miles from the child’s home v for a minimum of 7 nights and 8 days during a 1 -year period v due to economic necessity and personal subsistence
