Academic Standards Our Track program prioritizes classwork over practice. If you need additional help, please let a coach know and come to practice with a pass. Plan ahead for meets as we will often need to leave early. Talk with your teachers ahead of time. Use your teammates as study buddies. Students must maintain passing grades in all subjects and carry a minimum of 2. 5 credits each semester. Academic eligibility is determined by quarter grades and semester grades, not progress reports. The 3 rd Quarter ends on March 24 th. .

Points and Lettering Jon is an athlete that doesn’t always score points at meets. However, he shows up for practice, works hard, and competes at the varsity level. He never misses a practice. Jon competes in the Triple Jump and Long Jump at each meet and invite including Conference and Regionals. Jon earns: 11 attendance points (11 weeks x 1 point) 8 points for dual meets participation (4 dual meets x 2 events x 1 point per event) 32 points for invitational participation (8 invites x 2 event x 2 points per event) Jon would earn 51 points and letter without scoring a single point at a meet.

Spring Break Spring break for the 2017 track and field season is during our 4 th week of practice, from March 25 th through April 2 nd. If you have a trip planned, that is great! Enjoy the time away and have a fun, safe time. If you are staying in town, we will still be having practice and will expect the athletes to be there. Practice time will still be from 4 -6 pm. If you are out of town, we ask you to do something on your own to that you don’t lose everything you gained in the first 3 weeks of practice. See our website for spring break workouts.
