Go-To-Market Services • SITUATION Augmensys wanted to offer its UBIK augmented reality solution from a cloud platform. However, Augmensys knew the power of cloud computing lay in the combination of hosted services perfectly leveraged by the architecture of the hosted application. In an industrial environment it discloses interesting potentials, like the incredible scalability or the security in terms of data availability. Augmensys needed a cloud service that would deliver on that potential. • SOLUTION Due to UBIK’s deep integration with Microsoft’s technologies and products, it made absolute sense for Augmensys to choose the powerful Microsoft Azure cloud platform to superimpose objects of a plant and all its underlying data directly in the live feed of a mobile device´s camera. UBIK utilizes Azure SQL Server so a UBIK database can easily be deployed to Azure and vice versa. The same goes for the file system: instead of using regular file servers, a UBIK Admin can use a blob with Azure Storage. • BENEFITS Microsoft Azure’s maturity as platform, as well as its reliability, gives credibility to Augmensys’ solution and reassures its customers.
