Student Behavior • Code of Student Conduct (in agenda book) • Indoor/Outdoor Suspensions = no participation in school activities/sports • Consequences will also include: – Detentions, indoor suspension, success center & expulsion
School Dress Code • • Review of Dress Code with students. KEY – ADHERE TO MDCPS DRESS CODE! ID Policy ALL students must be in compliance with the Dress Code Policy!

Absences/Tardies… • Excessive Absences/Tardies = result in NO ACTIVITIES/SPORTS • Remember 10/20 Rule for Athletes/Performers/Competitors/Activities • 10 absences (excused or unexcused) • 20 tardies to school = DONE! • Detentions!
Absences/Tardies… • Keep copies of any documentation you submit to the Attendance Office. • If you need to appeal, you will have to RESUBMIT documentation to the District that we cannot find for you! • Copy and staple admits and doctor’s notes to dates inside your AGENDA books.
Late Arrival Procedures… • Sign-in at Attendance Office when you enter the building after 7: 20 a. m. • Do not proceed to class without properly getting admit to class from Ms. Mc. Donald. For example: If you miss period 1, but go directly to period 2, you will be marked absent for the day. Your name will also appear on the attendance bulletin as absent and a parent notification will be made automatically. • Remember attendance is taken for homeroom during period 1 indicating whether you are in school or not. ATTENDANCE MOTTO: YOU MISS SCHOOL-YOU MISS OUT!

Our Purpose: Our Student Services Department is designed to assist students in their educational, personal/social, and post high school development. By working with our students, teachers, parents, administrators, and staff, we set out to enhance and support the learning community that is Miami Palmetto Senior High —home of the Panthers! How can we help? . . . transitioning, self-awareness, goals, making healthy choices, accepting responsibilities, managing conflicts, decision-making, coping with loss/grief, self-harming behaviors, resiliency, wellness & mental health…just to name a few.
Graduation Requirements: Diploma Options: 24 Credits—Scholars, Merit, Standard Diploma (or) 18 Credits Assessments: Algebra I EOC & 10 th Grade FSA ELA Academic Credits: 4 English, 4 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Studies Fine Art credit Personal Fitness half credit, & Physical Education half credit or Waiver Electives—to include Foreign Language for college entrance FLVS--online course or Industry Certification Community Service Project GPA: 2. 00 Minimum Un-weighted
Things to Know: The Student Services Department is located in the Attendace Office. We are available to meet with you via appointments scheduled through Mr. Diaz—before school, during lunch times, or after school). Parents should call or email for appointments. You may schedule an appointment starting the week of September 4 th. The best way to reach us is through email. We are here to help, answer questions, guide, “counsel” and facilitate the high school journey! Let us get to know you!
