The Challenge… 5 Data comes from multiple sources

The Present – So we installed. NET. Now what? 5 Browses allow users to get what they need faster

Browse URL Links pull the information together 5 Browse Hyperlink (Browse URL) – Link to to external web pages internal document libraries a QAD maintenance function or report a QAD browse – Links can be either general or specific. They can apply to 1 value only, or all values

Example 1 – External Link 5 Customer Service needs to find out the status of a shipment for a customer – When was the order shipped? – What’s the Bill of Lading or Tracking number? – When will it be delivered?

Setting up an External Link 51. What field do you want to link to? – Ctrl + F in a maintenance function – Right-click on the top of the column and click Properties or use Browse Maintenance

Example 2 – External Document 5 Item Images are stored in a central document library on a network drive – Is this the right part?

General Browse Links 5 General links can be created for any type of URL 5 To replace a value in the URL with the value of the field in the browse, use – #b# – beginning of field to replace – #e# – end of field to replace – For example, #b#ih_inv_nbr#e#

More Details About Browse Links 5 There is virtually no limit to the number of browse URL links you can create 5 Links can be to all kinds of documents including PDF, Excel, Word, JPG, CAD drawings, etc. 5 Browse Link Maintenance is a similar function that will open the appropriate maintenance function when you double-click a record in the browse 5 Not all versions of QAD may not have 5 fields to link. In this case, you will need to set up a Browse Collection
