Method Demonstration
Method demonstration is relatively short-time demonstration given to a group of people to show to carry out an entirely new practice or an old practice in a better way.
Skill Teaching – the main objective of Method Demonstraion Skill Teaching – The skill teaching aims at generating interest by making understanding the skill and doing the skill in a right way
The aim of the skill is often concerned not only with providing the worth of a practice but also ‘how to do something’.
Objectives • To enable the people to acquaint new skill • To stimulate people to action. • To enable people to improve their old skill. • To make the learners do things more effectively, by getting rid of defective practices. • To build up learners’ confidence and satisfaction on the practice.
Skill teaching is imparted through the triple process of seeing, hearing and doing.
Teaching a skill An old Chinese proverb says “If I hear, I forget, If I see, I remember, If I do, I know”

Planning Decide on the topic, target audience and venue of demonstration Select a topic which is important Contact subject matter specialists and ensure their participation Collect relevant information , materials and equipments
Planning Identify the steps in conducting the demonstration Practice the demonstration Decide on the date and time & place and give timely intimation to all concerned Display diagrams, charts, graphs etc at the demonstration
Implementation Start the demonstration on the schedule date and time Show each operation step-by-step, explaining clearly why and how it is being done Repeat difficult steps if required Invite the participants one by one in small batches to practice the skill.
Follow-up Keep a record of the participants and maintain contact with them Assist the participants in getting the required materials and equipments for practicing Make a sample check to assess the extent of use of the skill and satisfaction derived by the those
