TWIC Pilot Program • SAFE Port Act of 2006 requires testing at 5 distinct locations throughout the U. S. • The following ports/facilities are set to participate: – Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach – New York/ New Jersey Port Authority, including Staten Island Ferry – Port of Brownsville, TX – Watermark Cruises (passenger vessels in Annapolis, MD) • Applies Port Security Grant Program funding 2

TWIC 2 Rulemaking • MERPAC’s input will be included in a future TWIC 2 NPRM • USCG plans to develop a Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) – Will include data from the Pilot Program – Will include input from Advisory Committees 3
