Meniere’s Dis. Case 1 History n 52 y/o female n Diagnosed with Meniere’s disease and plan of treatment was through diuretics and diet n Been experiencing severe monthly episodes n At this visit intratympanic gentamicin injection was performed on the left ear

Case 2 History n Diagnosed with Meniere’s disease 10 years ago in the right ear n Now experiencing trouble that looks like left sided Meniere’s n Reports dizziness feels like motion sickness. n Doctor would like to test for Lyme disease

Case 3 History n 43 year old female n Possible meniere’s disease

Recommendation n Options: – Transtympanic steriod/gentamicin injection – Endolymphatic sac decompression & labrynthectomy – Vestibular nerve section

Case 4 History 55 year old female n 4 months prior the pt. was awoken by a large screech in her right ear, when she opened her eyes she noticed intense vertigo causing excessive vomiting n Pt was admitted for four days into the hospital MRI and CT were negative for any pathology, diagnosed with vestibular neuronitis at that stay n

History Cont’ n She notes that she is unable to sleep laying back on her bed or turning to the right due to vertigo n She states that vertigo only occurs when moving her head rapidly from side to side n Non-pulsitile tinnitus is constant in the right ear

Diagnosis n Differential diagnosis includes idiopathic Meniere’s disease as one of the possibilities – Dr. requests to see scans to determine diagnosis

Case 5 History n 73 year old female n Diagnosed with Meniere’s disease n In the last year she has had 6 vertiginous attacks

Case 6 History n 54 year old male n Since 1997 noticed a gradual and fluctuating hearing loss n Reports feeling aural fullness and dizziness n Constant tinnitus is present
