Home learning (started 09. 19) • • • Daily maths Weekly spelling Reading Records

Daily Maths Home Learning • • Set daily Set to consolidate learning and develop fluency (TT) Should take between 5 -10 minutes to complete To please be returned the next morning and placed in the home learning tray • Children can start it at the end of the day (if time)

Weekly Spelling Home Learning • Set weekly • Given out on Fridays • Children will be tested following Friday

Weekly Reading Home Learnin • Bring into school everyday. • Children must read every evening for at least 15 -20 minutes. • Good reading = reading at a good pace, with expression, with punctuation in mind and with fluency. This will facilitate comprehension. • Please encourage your child to read a wide range of texts, both fiction and non-fiction.

Weekly Reading Home Learning • In KS 2, children are encouraged to write their own comments in their reading records as much as possible (3 comments each week). • Example comments: picture, expressing an opinion, prediction, new vocabulary… • Reading Records will be checked by an adult at school every week. • Reader of the week award.

P. E. and Swimming • Swimming on Mondays • P. E. on Tuesdays • Please ensure your child brings in their full P. E. kit on both days and wears suitable footwear. • Children will miss some of their playtime the next day if they do not have the correct P. E. kit.

Routines Awards - Star of the day - Star of the week (Friday whole school assembly) - Weekend with the class pet! - GLA Awards - House points - Golden time (Marble Jar) - Extra play for best class attendance. Attendance - Our aim is 100% - Lessons start at 8: 50. - Children who miss learning will be able to catch up during their playtime.

Key information Clubs - Any questions to be directed to the office. - End time: 16: 45 Pick up - If your child is getting picked up by someone else, please inform the office and a Y 4 member of staff in the morning. Pupil Council - Two children per class - Meet weekly/every other week Eco Council - Two children per class - Meet weekly/every other week

Numeracy Knowledge Organisers • Facts that need to be learnt by the end of the year • The concepts will be taught throughout the year • All year groups will be available on the school website • Check that your child also knows all facts within previous year
