• a daily English lesson for all children. • based on the National Curriculum 2014 which sets out expectations for each year group. • emphasis on reading, writing, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• a daily mathematics lesson for all children. • Lancashire Mathematics Scheme based on the National Curriculum 2014 which sets out expectations for each year group. • fun and active including ICT and hands-on resources, with opportunities to talk about maths and apply skills in different contexts. • emphasis on arithmetic, reasoning and justifying of number facts
§ During this half term P. E. will take place on Thursday afternoon. • Children should have their P. E. kit in school for the whole of the half term. • Children are not allowed to wear jewellery and hair should be tied back.
§ Class Dojo. • Table points - Children can receive table points for effort and attitude for both inside and outside the classroom. • Children will be encouraged and supported to achieving a happy and successful week.
English – Children will receive spellings on a Friday to be completed and handed in the following Wednesday. Children are also expected to read at home at least 3 times per week and record in their reading diaries. Mathematics – Children will receive Mathematics homework on a Friday to be completed and handed in the following Wednesday. Homework will be linked to work covered during the week in both English and Mathematics. Homework is set for the children to complete and not parents! If your child doesn’t know how to complete homework set, they need to speak to their teacher. Any children not completing their homework will go to study club on a Thursday lunchtime to complete homework.
